A recognized expert on disability policy, Victor Pineda has served on national advisory committees and testified before congress on the conditions of people with disabilities.He has also worked for the United States Department of the Treasury in evaluating development policy and foreign aid, and has provided technical assistance to post-war Bosnia and post-tsunami Thailand.In 2005 Victor formalized his mission to educate, inspire and inform a global audience on disability issues by incorporating the Victor Pineda Foundation, an educational organization that supports international agencies like the United Nations and the World Bank in developing programs and policies that include people with disabilities as equal stakeholders.Victor is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Alice Belkin Memorial Fellowship, a National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation research grant, and the Thomas Jefferson Award.His publications include a forthcoming edited book Disability Ethics: Reflections on Invalidity, as well as a children's book on the rights of children with disabilities developed in partnership with UNICEF.Victor is the founder of California's first Disability Media Center (DMC), and was the first Tom Clausen Fellow at the Walter Haas Business School's Center for Business and Policy.
