Capacity Building

Capacity Building Thematic Area

As recognized by the United Nations:

"There is a growing consensus that education in and for human rights is essential and can contribute to both the reduction of human rights violations and the building of free and peaceful societies. Human rights education is also increasingly recognized as an effective strategy to prevent human rights abuses."

Our capacity building initiative enhances the capacity of NGOs and government agencies to achieve greater impact through the application of best practices. This program includes a range of activities from informal advisory support to formal training and deeper technical assistance.

While there are many small groups that are active in the area of disability, there is a lack of communication and collaboration between them. Consequently, much of the efforts of local NGOs on the ground is not supported and lacks the institutional capacity to scale their programs and impact a greater community.
