7/24/2009 - Knowing Our History Renewing Our Promise
Washington, D.C. – On July 26, 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) -- the world's first comprehensive civil rights law for people with disabilities. Now 19 years later the law still resonates with a powerful history and that is impacting everything from the Healthcare bill and Justice Sotomyerʼs nomination, to the race for the American presidency.

This quote well represents the connections between the people of the UAE, the United Nations' Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and UAE Federal Law 29. As of today, 139 nations, including the UAE, have signed the Convention, agreeing to the 50 Articles. The time is now for the UAE to lead nations in implementing these articles, for the benefit of the UAE, its people, and the world. (Read More)

5/7/2009 - Abu Dhabi - The Ministry of Education
The Foundation recently conducted a 3 days workshop for The Ministry of Education in Sharjah. The workshop consisted of teacher sensitivity training for a group of 40 teachers on how to provide inclusive education for young people with disabilities. The workshop was a success and I'm so proud to announce that the Foundation was featured on the front page, above the fold, in "The National", which is the national newspaper for the U.A.E.
