Legal and Gender Research Associate

Elise Wohlbold recently joined the Victor Pineda Foundation as a Legal and Gender Research Associate after successfully completing her Master's of Science degree in Gender Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science in England. Prior to this Elise completed her Bachelor's degree in law in Ottawa, Canada and subsequently worked at the human rights law firm Raven, Cameron, Ballantyne & Yazbeck LLP. During her time at Raven LLP she worked on cases dealing with international human rights law and issues involving disability and employment.
Her current interests are to explore the significance and the linkages between gender and international human rights law with particular emphasis on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, CEDAW, ICCPR, ICESC and the Charter of the United Nations.
Besides her current research interests, Elise is an avid skier and has climbed Europe's highest mountain peaks, Mont Blanc (France) and Dent de Midi (Switzerland).
